RACE RULES

Accelaquarter Raceway follows the NHRA rulebook closely. Any clarifications or special track additions are listed below and on our accelaquarterraceway.com website. The Race Director’s interpretation of all rules will be final.

General Accelaquarter Raceway Rules

  • No fighting, vandalism, filthy language, or theft. Any action or behavior deemed detrimental by Accelaquarter Raceway will result in disciplinary action and/or suspension. 
  • No selling or soliciting on the grounds without permission of management. 
  • Dispose of litter in designated barrels. No glass bottles allowed. Waste oil should be disposed of in proper containers, not on the ground. 
  • No open flames allowed in the pit area. 
  • Helmets required all classes. 
  • All races are 1/8 mile.
  • Door cars and dragsters will be called to the lanes together.
  • First round buy-backs only
  • Same car double entries allowed. Entering more than 2 times is not permitted for car or driver
  • Bye run is pulled by random first round.
    Best reaction time gets the bye run after first round (closest to dial tiebreaker).
  • (1) bye run per driver unless everyone has had one.
  • Bye run carries over into the next round if not used.
  • A ladder will start with 16 cars, new ladder each round based off of reaction times.
  • Diapers are mandatory.
  • If you win a round and your car breaks you may switch cars with a race directors approval, if you get caught switching without approval you will be disqualified.
  • Throttle stops and stutter boxes are allowed.
  • Slew rate controls are prohibited.
  • MSD Ignition box 7531 is prohibited.
  • Quarterfinal or better car inspections and random inspections can and will be performed at any time throughout the entire race weekend.
  • 3% charge will apply to anyone using a credit card.
  • All rules and schedules are subject to change per Accelaquarter Raceway discretion.

Super Pro Class 4.50 – 7.69: 

  • Delay boxes and data recorders permitted
  • Delay boxes are not permitted to display any engine rpm while racing
  • No computers
  • Wiring from tach to delay box not permitted
  • MSD 7761 is not allowed
  • No deep staging allowed
  • Crosstalk with be utilized 
  • Autostart will be used

Sportsman Footbrake Class 6.00 – slower: 

  • No electronics allowed; including two-steps, throttle stops or timers
  • Electric/air shifters allowed
  • A single line lock allowed on a non-drive wheel only
  • No computers; no data recorders allowed
  • No transbrakes
  • Autostart will be used
  • No crosstalk will be used. 

$250k Main Event Weekends Format: 

Drivers are invited to arrive and set up the Thursday before every $250k Main Event. Test and tunes will be conducted on the Fridays of every scheduled Main Event before racing commences using two lanes for all Super Pro Classifiers. Lanes will be identified from left to right facing down track as 1 and 2. A Christmas tree will be in use. All races are 1/8 mile. Door cars and dragsters will be called to the lanes together. $750 first-round buy-backs are on the table!. Same car double entries allowed. Entering more than 2 times is not permitted for any car or driver. Bye run is pulled by random first round. Best reaction time gets the bye run after first round (closest to dial tiebreaker). $5k/10k/5k Triples Format: 

Parking and setup begins Friday of every $5k/$10k/$5k event. No test and tunes. Lanes will be identified from left to right facing down track as 1 and 2. A Christmas tree will be in use. All races are 1/8 mile. Door cars and dragsters will be called to the lanes together. $75 first-round buy-backs! Same car double entries allowed. Entering more than 2 times is not permitted for car or driver. Bye run is pulled by random first round. Best reaction time gets the bye run after first round (closest to dial tiebreaker).
